Why Does WhatsApp Broadcasting Cost Money? Here's the Breakdown
Fourvision Broadcaster doesn't set these rates — per-message pricing is set entirely by Meta as the owner of the WhatsApp Business Platform, and paid directly by each business through its own WhatsApp Business account, not through us.
Per Message, No Longer Per Conversation
Since July 1, 2026, Meta shifted the WhatsApp Business Platform pricing model from a 24-hour conversation window to per message sent. Cost is now based on how many messages are actually delivered, not how long a conversation window stays open.
4 Categories That Determine the Price
Every message template falls into one of these categories — the category determines the rate, not the message content itself.
Marketing
Promotions, offers, campaigns. The highest-priced category since it's business-initiated, not requested by the customer.
Utility
Transactional notifications — order confirmations, reminders, status updates. Much cheaper than Marketing.
Authentication
OTP / login verification codes. Some countries have a separate, higher Authentication–International rate for deliveries routed internationally.
Service
Replies to customers who messaged the business first within the last 24 hours. Marked n/a on Meta's rate card — no per-message charge.
